2 under 2

Having two babies is no joke! Our days consist of a lot of diapers, laundry, and nursing. I can't seem to find time in the day to clean or cook... so our house is full of clutter, and Goldie is living off crackers and cereal. Even though some days are long, and sleep is sparse, I know the months fly by, and my babies grow before my eyes.

Final Countdown

It's crazy to think that our time as a family of three is quickly approaching. As excited as I am to meet our little love, I am still in shock that it is actually happening THIS wednesday! Like three days. WHAT?! I had my last doctor's appointment last week and we have the C-section scheduled for Wednesday the 17th-- we will know the exact time tuesday night.

Tonight my mom is taking Goldie to Idaho to my grandparents with her. This will be our first night away from Goldie. Yeah, I'm a crazy mom that has separation anxiety. Goldie doesn't at all, she loves both my parents and grandparents, I'm sure she'd prefer to hang with them over me, but me on the other hand... I miss her too much! Goldie is my baby so it will be so weird to see her next to our new... newborn baby. I am so grateful for parents who love Goldie so much, and jump at any opportunity to watch her. My dad thinks Goldie is going to live with them for a month after baby is born... I don't think so ;) They are so good at recognizing when we need help.

I can't wait to meet baby sister. My heart is so full just thinking about bring a new baby into our home. I know things will be a little crazy at first, but there is nothing more rewarding than being a parent.

36 weeks: Baby #2

Somehow I am 36 weeks pregnant? When did this happen haha!? Less than three more weeks until we get to meet our little lady-- CRAZY! I have been the worst mom lately because it is so dang hot outside that I cannot bare the heat!! Holy moly. Like what were we thinking having an August baby?? Goldie is so cute and is getting excited/starting to understand she is going to have a baby around. Every family prayer she blesses the baby- even when we forget to. I am really looking forward to getting to hold and meet this baby for the first time. But especially excited for our two babies to meet-I don't think my heart can take it!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Still low in Iron, but I have been taking iron supplements for over a month. I am not dilated at all, which wasn't really a surprise. Goldie was stuck, which is why I have to have C-sections... I don't dilate! Feeling really low energy, but super into nesting mode! I have washed all the baby's clothes, blankets, burp clothes-- we are basically ready!

Weight Gain: about 29 lbs

Blood Pressure: 106/50

Cravings: Give me all the swig cookies.

Movement: It seems like this baby pushes her bum out, my tummy always feels super hard. I feel her up in my ribs, and down in my hips.

32 weeks: Baby #2

It's crazy how I was pregnant with Goldie for 2 years and I've only been pregnant with this baby for 4 months! Really though... time is FLYING! I can't believe that basically next month we will have a baby. I had my appointment yesterday, and we got to pick out a birthdate (I have to get a C-section... this is the only perk haha). The determining factor was whenever the doctor that delivered Goldie was on call... so baby girl #2 is coming AUGUST 17! They do c-sections first thing in the morning so it could be anytime from 5:30-8-30... we will know for sure in a couple weeks. It is seriously so surreal I can't believe it!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Mostly just a growing belly... I can't see my feet, so I basically can only wear slip on shoes, because it's way too much effort to try to put on other shoes. I also have low iron this time so I've been having to take an iron supplement on top of my prenatal vitamin. I get winded walking up the stairs, have to pee like 100 times a day... all while chasing my busy toddler around... and man I love it!! I do get extremely sore by the end of the day!

Weight gain: About 25 lbs.

Blood Pressure: They weren't able to read it this time, they tried both my arms a couple times, but couldn't find it.

Cravings: Since it's been so hot lately I crave like soft serve ice cream... and coconut snow cones with sweet and condensed milk on top.

Queasy: I can't say that anything makes me want to gag anymore-- yay!!

Movement: this baby is still more mellow than goldie was... but she is starting to become a little mover as well. She is most active at night when I lay down. At our appointment yesterday the doctor said she was moving a ton when he was reading the heart rate, I think I don't notice as much because I am a little busier this time around. The doctor also said she is already head down, so that is exciting!

Goldie is still a little confused that she will soon have a little baby that is going to be living with her, and taking up half of mom's attention, but still loves to snuggle my belly and give sissy kisses. She can also say the name we like and it is like the cutest thing ever!!

My Mama Heart

I will warn you in advance... this is probably overly sentimental (what can I say... that's me always) and is just me totally rambling about motherhood. You've been warned ;)

Does anyone else have those days when you are completely overcome with gratitude and like an overwhelming love? The moments where you're like... oh my gosh... you're mine forever. How did I get so lucky? You are beautiful! The cutest thing I have ever seen. My whole world, my whole heart.

Lately I have been so sentimental. I don't know if it's pregnancy hormones or what, but man... I feel SO BLESSED. As our time as a family of three is coming to and end (WHAT.) I find myself worrying a little about Goldie. My first baby. The little angel that made me a mama. You guys I'm literally obsessed with her. I am by no means saying she's my favorite, but right now I am trying hard to imagine my full-to-the-brim heart, having room to love another like I love Goldie. BUT somehow it is!! Do mother's hearts' just grow... like seriously I don't get it because mine is about to explode over here.

I LOVE being a mom. It is the hardest thing I've ever done, but the most rewarding job in the world. Seeing goldie just grow into her sweet self is the greatest thing I've experienced in my life. I can't believe I get to do it again. And on top of it watch goldie become a big sister. Like wholly heart eyes right!? Goldie makes my day every day, even the sassy, toddler-tantrum filled ones. I am so grateful for her, her baby sister (who we think has a name... hopefully it sticks!), and their sweet daddy. He's pretty dang cute himself.

Oh the feels!!

24 Weeks: Baby #2

I had my glucose test today... and I didn't pass out! I would say that's a win. The doctor said everything looks good, and that he would be surprised if I had diabetes... so fingers crossed!!

Pregnancy Symptoms:  Just feeling large and in charge! It is getting hard to bend over, I get winded from walking up the stairs, and back aches. Every night I am like wow, what workout did I do today... just chase goldie around... but it feels like I ran a 10k then hit the weights at the gym! Haha! I don't sleep soundly anymore, due to comfort issues and bladder issues ;) I have started to feel less nauseous and haven't thrown up in a week! So progress is being made!

Weight Gain:  About 15 lbs.

Blood Pressure: 107/69

Cravings: Who sells cheese fries, and has fry sauce!?? Because I need them! They sound so amazing all the time. Also my usual cravings of like chocolate, ice cream, chocolate cake.... literally the list is a mile long. Which is probably why I've gained 15 lbs already. But hey, baby made me do it :)

Queasy: Dishes, the thought of cooking meat, cold food that should be hot.

Movement: Baby girls' movements are starting to get bigger and bigger! It's so much fun! She seems to be a mover just like Goldie was... so I may have my hands full, but let's get real, I will either way right?

Goldie is still a little clueless as to the fact she is going to have a sister in like 3 months, but she does lift up my shirt and say "bebe" and kiss my belly. However, she now lifts her shirt up for me to kiss her "bebe". So obviously confused haha. I think having two babies is going to be a little crazy, but I am so excited for it. I can't wait to see Goldie become a big sister, because I think she will be the best. I am still shocked as to how mothers' hearts don't explode! Right when you think your heart is full, you squeeze in room for another sweetie, to have all your love.

Bumpdate: 22 Weeks

We had our big ultrasound a couple weeks ago, everything looked good! Baby girl was measuring a little behind, but she had all her major organs, that were basically fully developed. It is truly the most amazing thing in the world! The whole ultrasound she was bent completely in half, with her little hands by her face. So tiny and cute. Goldie is still pretty oblivious that there is a real baby in my belly, but she loves lifting up my shirt and giving "bebe' loves and kisses. However, now she lifts up her shirt asking me to give her baby kisses... so I think she's a little confused. How do you even begin to explain to a one-year-old that there's a baby in your belly..??

Pregnancy Symptoms: Besides the obvious growing belly, I still get nauseous and throw up every now and again. By  the end of the day I am sore and exhausted! And its not because I work out, it is literally from just doing day to day chores and playing with Goldie. I feel healthier this pregnancy just because I chase Goldie around all day, and anyone who has a toddler knows that they take a lot of energy :) Being pregnant with a toddler is so much better in my opinion because even when I feel terrible Goldie makes me get up and play, plus you aren't counting down the weeks, they sort of fly by... and I want them to slow down so Goldie can stay my baby for a little longer. I know when baby sister comes she will grow up even more.

Weight Gain: At my 20 week appointment I gained 10 lbs.

Cravings: Slurpees have sounded amazing lately. Ice cream, french fries WITH fry sauce, and cheese fries, even better. Literally hungry all the time, and everything sounds good.

Queasy: Smells still, dishes... ew, I have thrown up in the garbage can too many times to count. Also cooking and meats makes me gag.

Maternity Clothes: I found so maternity pants that I LOVE!! I got them from H & M and they actually fit tight everywhere... my waist, and bum, legs! I am loving them, so I wear them like everyday. That and usually an oversized t-shirt that aren't technically maternity wear but just semi-flattering haha.

Movement: The movements are just getting bigger and bigger! I love feeling her tumble and kick! It is hands down the best thing about pregnancy. I usually only feel the movements at night because I have no time during the day to sit it seems! Every now and again I will feel a couple jabs though.

I told myself I would be better at taking pictures this pregnancy and so far, I am no better! I need to be though!

18 weeks: baby #2

Wow. Almost half way! It is crazy how much faster pregnancy goes having a baby/toddler to keep me busy. On the flip side, I do feel like I am further along when I look in the mirror and see a visibly pregnant belly. Like am I the only one who feels like they popped way sooner than I did with Goldie. I don't know if this baby girl is a little on the chubby side but man... I'm already bumpin'!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Still going through some morning sickness. Blah. Trying my hardest to not throw up but am failing miserably. I don't know what it is but I get really sick it seems with pregnancy. I am already in the wake up in the middle of the night to pee stage. :) yay! haha. I've had problems with my SI joint from an old soccer injury, and it always flares up when I'm pregnant. Other than that I'm doing great! I feel like I'm starting to have more energy, but then 4 comes around and I need a nap!

Weight Gain: 8 lbs. I am good at packing on the pounds... what can I say!?

Cravings: Still spicy chicken sandwiches- chick-fa-la, or McDonalds will do! Then also this protein shake I make thats bomb!!

Queasy: Smells still.

Maternity Clothes: my pants still fit but my high waisted ones I have to do the rubber band trick... which is not comfortable... and I'm all about comfort! So maternity jeans and yoga pants! Maternity pants are like all too big in the waist. It's like I need a smaller size but they don't make a smaller size so... yeah.

Movement: Yes!!! I have felt the little butterfly movements and some big movements that have made me like freak out! Like a tiny elbow or knee poking me!

We love you baby girl!!! Your big sis is sooooo excited to meet you, she gives you loves and kisses all day!

Baby #2 is a...

GIRL!! We are having another girl!! I must say I was a little surprised, I thought we were having a boy (again- I felt this way with Goldie too), but I am so excited to have two sisters close together. They will be 20 months apart, so it will be so fun! Scott guessed right again! He said he always thought he would be a girl dad, and I thought I would be a boy mom... but apparently I'm a girl mom! And I am loving it :) Goldie has been so fun, so if this girl is anything like Goldie I say give me all the girls! Hopefully they like soccer, because I don't know anything about dance ;)

I found out at 15 weeks, so a little early because we can't wait! We went to fetal fotos at south towne mall and it was actually pretty legit. The guy that did the ultra sound was great and Scott actually could point out it was a girl! We got to see the little one sucking her thumb, looking at us, and kicking her little legs. I swear there is nothing like seeing your baby. It truly is a miracle to watch them grown inside and outside the womb. Motherhood is magical. But she is healthy and measuring great!

I hope Scott is ready for all the estrogen coming for him... especially in the teenage years ;) We are so excited for this new addition! Now I need to think up some girl names...

14 Weeks

I am FINALLY out of the 1st trimester!! YAY! Actually... it has gone by a little faster than my pregnancy with Goldie... probably because Goldie is keeping me really busy!

Pregnancy Symptoms: I thought I was out of the morning sickness/throwing up phase... but unfortunately I threw up 3 times this week so far. So I am hoping this ends  soon! I am starting to feel less tired and have a little bit more energy which is really nice!

Weight Gain: 4 lbs so far. Last pregnancy I literally gained 50 lbs! Most of it came off pretty easy thanks to breastfeeding!

Cravings:  Anything and everything that is not good for me! Soft serve vanilla ice cream, fries (sweet potato fries), spicy McChicken sandwiches from McDonald's (weird right?!), and Capt'n Crunch cereal. So yeah eating pretty healthy over here!

Queasy: Smells-- dishes, milk, cold food that needs warmed up... I am literally gagging thinking about it! Yuck!

Maternity Clothes: Not really any yet, but I am about to whip out some pants! Last pregnancy I wanted to stay in my pants as long as possible... so uncomfortable!! I am all about comfort this time. My jeans are getting so uncomfortable because I am showing enough for someone to ask if I was pregnant.. :) Bring on all the maternity clothes!

Best Moment this Week: We went to the Doctor today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat! It took the doctor a little bit to find it but hearing it was the best feeling!

Boy or Girl?: You guys!! I have no clue. It differs every day for me! I would be so happy with either. If it was a girl Scott may let us have a third kid ;) if its a boy then we have a boy and girl! Scott thinks another girl. I hope to find out next week sometime!

2 "bebes"

I LOVE Goldie's personality! She is the most outgoing, friendly, and sweetest little girl! She is always keeping us laughing, chasing, and smiling. I swear she has some tom boy in her because man, she is waaaaay active. Other girls her age seem very mellow, and what not, but Goldie is always all over the place. I love it, but it  makes for some tiring days :)

On Sunday during class we said the opening prayer and after everyone said "amen" Goldie (loudly) says, "Oh yeah! I was dying it was too funny.

So I am now 12 weeks preggo... almost out of the first trimester! Thank heaven. And yes, I have an already pregnant belly, and yes have actually been asked if I am pregnant. I don't know how to feel about it, but I guess that's the down side of having a short body, and no torso... baby's got no where to hide! So Goldie too has been noticing my growing belly, and its safe to say she's in LOVE. She always wants to give baby loves and kisses, but it has to be my bare baby, she will just keep lifting up my layers until she finds it. When she does she gets so excited and squeals, "bebe!" We will see if these feelings remain once the baby gets here :)

These are moments I want to remember forever.

No place I'd rather be.

Sometimes we get caught up in everyone else and what they are doing, and I find myself feeling bad that I don't vacation in Mexico every weekend, or haven't taken Goldie to Disneyland yet. And I definitely don't look perfectly put together with full on makeup, and long curls, with an outfit from Anthropologie or Free People. Or I don't have a mansion that looks like it's from a West Elm magazine

The truth is... I maybe wash my hair once or twice a week if I'm lucky because I am bathing Goldie. I am usually wearing yoga pants, or sweats, even though I don't work out... ever, because I'm already getting chubby from this pregnancy, and sweats feel better than jeans. I don't always feed Goldie all organic meals, because I throw up like all the time. Sorry to my family for that one... lots of empty carbs. And changing diapers is becoming a full time job.

The reality of it is this is my real life, and I wouldn't change a thing. I love who I get to share this life with, and I love being a mom more than anything. I am grateful Scott has a job that allows me to stay at home with my babies and raise them! I am grateful for our house and that I get to fill it with love and memories. I am grateful to be a mom to the most amazing, smart little girl. I may be biased but she means the world to me. I am also grateful to get the opportunity to be a mommy again, there is no greater feeling.

I guess the point is, no matter what your situation is, try to make the best of it. Then you will grow to love it, and realize the blessings always outweigh the bad.

Thank you to Ali Middleton, an amazing photographer, (check her out) for taking these pictures of my family. They are so us. And I love them.

A couple weeks before these photos were taken one of my good friends Jess Tait did this super cute video! I love how it just shows our real life... toys, ball, and laundry :) there's nothing better! If you are needing a videographer for anything (weddings, missionaries, family shoots) check her out!!

Baby #2

We are so excited to announce that baby Probert #2 is on the way! My official due date is August 22, but after our first doctor's appointment speaking with the doctor about my previous C-section it could be a week before. Okay fine by me :) Since I did end up having an emergency C-section the doctor recommended having another C-section, especially based on my body's anatomy.

I won't lie, Goldie's birth went nothing like I expected, and sometimes I find myself feeling kind of guilty about it. I wanted to go into labor naturally and have the doctors put her up on my chest right after she was born... and I would just get to hold her and take in the moment. However, things went differently. After 38 hours of labor, and 24 of them being without an epidural, a C-section, my body was EXHAUSTED. Like I could barely open my eyes, and I was faint from losing so much blood. I didn't get to hold Goldie for a couple hours because I was so weak. And that was really hard for me.

The doctor made me feel a lot better saying this time around I won't have to go through labor, I can get a good night's sleep the night before, and I won't be 41 weeks pregnant! So I can be as alert after a surgery as I can.

My heart is just so full, and super excited. Motherhood is really something special. There's really nothing else I would rather do :) I am forever grateful for the opportunities I have had to become a mom!

So far I have been feeling quite nauseous... and have thrown up a handful of times... if not thrown up gagging and trying not to throw up haha! I feel bad for Goldie because I have sort have been a lazy mom because maaaan fatigue is hitting me hard!! Hopefully she doesn't remember me laying down in the bathroom while she takes a long bath ;)

crib sleeper

Well as many of you know, Goldie has been sleeping in our bed for the past six months. This is mostly because I have separation anxiety and liked being able to hear her breathing. When she was first born she hardly slept, naps or at night. As she got a little older she would wake up consistently every three hours to eat, which for me was doable.  Well, the past week was TERRIBLE. I don't know if it was teething or what, but Goldie was sleeping like a newborn. She was waking up every hour and a half screaming, and no amount of rocking, singing, or trying to shove a binki in her mouth was helping. She wanted to eat. I was trying to get her to go longer without nursing, so she would sleep better. Let's just say we were exhausted, and it was time to move to the crib.

We've always had the routine of bath time, lotion, eat, rock and sing, then sleep. So after I would rock and sing I set her in her crib, she cried a little bit, but quickly fell asleep. The first night she slept in her crib she slept for 7 HOURS. 7 hours. I haven't gotten that much sleep in over 6 months. It was refreshing. Although I did wake up a couple times to check and make sure she was okay. I learned she prefers to sleep on her tummy, and that she isn't much of a bed-sharer. She has been sleeping in her crib for the past week, and we are so proud, and happy!

still pregnant

Yes, it's true, I'm still pregnant. Technically I'm 39 weeks as of yesterday! I am approaching my due date ever so quickly, and I am more than excited to FINALLY meet this little one! We are ready to roll, the nursery is done, our bags are packed, now we are just waiting for this baby to decide she is ready (please hurry!). As we saw week 38 come and go, I felt a little discouraged because I was born a few weeks early, so I thought there was a strong chance maybe our baby would be too. But she's still cooking! Even though we are so close, it still feels like a dream that the baby really could come anytime, and that she's our baby. It is a really overwhelming feeling to know in a few short days I will be someone's mom. It gets me emotional just thinking about it. Scott is so excited. I'm not worried about him at all. I know he will make the best dad, because really he is such an amazing husband. Well, hopefully next time I write something, I will have pictures of a cute little baby to share. :)

38 weeks large. Also cut off 6 inches of hair to save some time in the mornings!

anxious

Well, this is it. Less than a month until we will meet our little girl. There are so many emotions to take in, and I am unbelievably anxious. I have loved being I pregnant (for the most part) but now I'm to the point where I am so uncomfortable. I don't sleep, have a hard time even finding a comfortable position sitting, and my legs have terrible circulation problem. I also currently have a sinus infection... so it's so fun! Just to further expand on my growing  body, I showed my little sisters AuBrey and KarLei my tummy and this is what they said: AuB, "oh ew" and Karl: "It looks so much bigger without a shirt... doesn't that hurt!?" (when she saw stretch marks) Haha.. it was so funny! With that being said...  I am more than ready to have my baby here to hold. I know that I am going to miss this big belly of mine like crazy, and for selfish reasons. I love having her with me always. Plus she has currently had the hiccups a lot, which is so cute. She also is loving moving all over the place, trying to get comfy I assume. :)

This past weekend we got our nursery all set up, the clothes and blankets are washed and ready to hold our little babe! I started the "fun" doctor's appointments this week. I am dilated to a one, and she is already head down, and I am measuring a little under average. The doc said that everything looks good and if I had my baby today she would most likely be perfectly healthy. Because I am full term!! Next step I should probably get a hospital bag packed, and also a diaper bag put together. I feel completely overwhelmed with gratitude, and also disbelief that this baby is going to be ours. We already love her so much. I love watching Scott touch my tummy and feel her move, he lights up when he feels her rolling around. I can only imagine how great of a dad he will be. I am over-the-moon excited to meet our little angel.

My 36 week belly!

bumpdate: 32 weeks

It is so crazy how close it's getting. I have so many emotions going through my mind as October approaches.. october means only one more month! The more that I think about how close, the more excited I get to meet our daughter. I love thinking of us as a family of three. She has already become such a big part of our family. She seems to already have such a personality. During the day I get head buts, or her little bum pushing up against my tummy... I love it! She moves the most at night though, right when I lay down in bed, she is all over the place. She must be running out of space because I feel her all the way on my sides! She really makes sure she is comfy in there.

Last week we had a bit of a scare. It was really hard, and made us both think about how much our baby really means to us. I think writing it down will help us remember how many blessings and miracles we experience every day. It puts life in perspective and makes us realize God has a plan for each one of us. After a day of not feeling our active daughter move, I started to panic. Luckily we have a heart rate ultrasound thing (I don't know what it's called). I moved it around on my belly, but a usually easy to find heartbeat could not be heard. I kept trying and trying, but I could only hear my own heartbeat. Of course I started to cry, and worry like I never have before. Scott would be home from work in an hour so I decided to wait until he came home to tell him what was going on, I thought maybe I was just being paranoid. So I kept praying that our baby was okay, and desperately trying to find a heartbeat. Scott came home and I was a mess. I could hardly say what I thought had happened because I was so sad. Scott then tried to find her heartbeat but he couldn't find anything. We then called the OBYN office to see if there was anything else we could do, but they had already closed. I asked Scott for a blessing, and he willing accepted. It was the first blessing Scott had given me. I really appreciate him and his priesthood. Right after the blessing we decided that we would try to find a heartbeat again. Scott barely touched my stomach, and the heartbeat was loud, clear, and steady. We both were in tears. We said a prayer after thanking Heavenly Father for answering us so quickly. He was so aware of us. Neither Scott or myself had ever had a prayer like that get answered so directly. As worried and scared as I was, I am so grateful for that experience, because it strengthened my testimony of faith, and prayer. It also brought me so close to my husband, and my Heavenly Father.

29 weeks

Wow. Getting down to the wire! About two more months. She is about 3 lbs and 17 1/2 in long. I had a doctor's appointment this morning and it went really well. It was just another appointment where the doctor checked the heartbeat of the baby, and got my weight, and blood pressure. Am I the only one that freaks out when I see my weight get heavier and heavier... then think.. am I ever going to fit in my old jeans again? Haha oh well.. comes with the job right?
It was good to hear the little one's heartbeat is still strong, and I also passed my glucose test! YAY. Also, why can't they show me our baby every appointment!?  Anyways....

We've gone throughout the whole pregnancy with one girl's name in mind.. a name we love so, so much... but now we have another one that we love just as much. What to do!? I guess we will decide once we see our little girl. (I also keep getting a feeling we will have a surprise boy haha) Ahhh!

I went into pregnancy saying... I don't want to gain a lot of weight... and I definitely don't want stretch marks. Now I have both of those things, but it really doesn't matter. When I really think of what I'm getting out of this is so much greater than getting back to my "ideal" weight. The closer we get to meeting this little girl, I can't contain myself. She has been my buddy for almost seven months, I just can't wait to meet her. I love the kicks I feel... she's a strong little lady. It is so nuts how you can look down and your tummy just moves.. It's awesome and I love it so much!

My goodness I am excited. I am also so overwhelmed with gratitude, for my Heavenly Father, family, friends, and especially my sweet husband Scottie. He has been more than amazing with putting up with my whining, and rubbing my feet/back, or holding my hair... haha I love you so much babe! I can't wait to be a mom!

third trimester

YAY! I made it to the first trimester! We are getting so close to meeting our little girl... I can't wait! I had a doctor's appointment a couple weeks ago where I did the glucose test. Yes, it was disgusting.. that was the worst orange soda I have ever tasted! The appointment involves getting your blood drawn again.. I'm still not quite used to it, I struggled this time! They also weighed me and took my blood pressure.. it is hard to see the numbers go up, but hey I have another person on the scale with me right?? We got to hear the little one's heartbeat again and she seems to be doing great. My cravings now are smoothies, frozen yogurt, or soft serve Macey's ice cream....yum! My tummy is definitely growing but I don't feel gigantic yet. Although right along my ribs falls asleep all the time, that area just goes numb and it's so weird! I'm to the point where I really can't remember what it was like to be not pregnant.

Last  weekend my mom and sisters, and Aunt Krissy threw me a shower for the Monson side, and it was so much fun! It got me really excited for a girl. They really spoiled me! I am so thankful for them!

As we get closer and closer to our baby coming, I find myself thinking about what she'll look like. Scott and I are quite different when it comes to features. He's brown eyes, brown hair, and really tan skin (like some people think he's a different race). Then I have lighter eyes, and blonde hair... So I really don't know what we will get! So I have loved looking through baby pictures so I can just see the different combos :) His eyes are the cutest!

I am so happy and grateful to my Heavenly Father. Pregnancy is really a miracle, and I feel incredibly  blessed to be able to become a mom.

21 weeks

It's official... We are having a girl!!! We technically found this out at 14 weeks, but found out again on Monday!

Almost everyone we talked to thought our baby would be a boy. And my family was eager to add more boys into our family. So I was ready for baseball and cars, but to our surprise there was something else in store for us!

At 14 weeks our sister-in-law Paige, and her mom Julia, who is an extremely talented nurse in labor and delivery, took us to the hospital for an ultra sound. She explained that it is early, and we may not be able to see for sure, but we were excited to see our baby again.

Julia and Paige you are both seriously awesome! Scott and I are definitely needed your help. I couldn't figure out where the baby's head was until someone pointed it out. Our baby was for sure showing off for us! She would stretch their legs and arms all the way out, then curl back up, and spin around. The baby would bring her little hands (which you could see every finger, cute!) up to her face, and cross her feet. Our baby is so active!! (Maybe that's why I've been so sick) Julia gave us so many views of our little one. On one of the views our baby looked right at us, and you could see the cute little face, and eye sockets. Another view was a bum view, and a frontal, so you could check for a male part. Our baby was making this easy because she moved around sooooo much!

Seeing our little girl in the ultra sound was amazing. You could see every little detail. Her spine, and bones, those long kicking legs (we got a soccer player on our hands ;) ), every finger and toe, her heart beating, everything was perfect.

We decided to do a reveal party for both sides of our families. We got two cow pinatas, and filled them with pink candies and balloons, so our nieces and nephews, and my little siblings, could break them open to find out. It was so fun to see everyone's reactions!

When we went to the doctor again, at 21 weeks on Monday. Scott still had some doubts that the baby really was a girl, but within seconds the ultrasound tech was able to tell that the baby was definitely a little girl. We were so eager to see how much the little baby had grown. She had gotten so big! She seemed a little cramped in my tummy! She was sleeping like the entire ultrasound while sucking her little thumb. It was so cute. The ultrasound tech took all sorts of measurements, checked her little heart, and heartbeat, and counted knuckles. It was amazing. To get better shots of her face with her fingers out of her mouth the tech asked me to get up and walk around and bounce to try to wake the baby up, but we had no luck. She's a sound sleeper just like her mom!

I mean look at that little nose, and those lips!

It makes me emotional to think that I have a little girl growing, and she is a little bit of me, and a little bit of Scott, and she is perfect. We both love her so much already, and are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for allowing us to take care of one of his precious little daughters.
