8 months

Goldie has grown up so much this month! I look at her now and see less and less of my little baby and more of a little toddler... So weird! It is crazy to think she has been with us for 8 months! She has totally changed me for the better and there is nothing more I love than being her mom.

Eyes: They are so blue and I'm so jealous.

Hair: She's a blondie! Finally getting hair, but no one can see it because it's so light. She also has like a group of hair on top of her head that forms into a little curl.

Clothes: 6-12 shirts and dresses still a little big but we were ready for some new clothes, and 3-6 bottoms

Milestones: She has grown up so much this month. Waves. I know so cute. Now officially a regular crawler for a couple weeks. Pulls herself up to EVERYTHING. It is making my job so much harder, but is so funny watching her walk around holding the furniture. At night when I go check on her, she'll be standing up in her crib... Like what!? You're too little for this! She can also sit up for a laying position. Took steps in the pool in her little floating thing. You guys I seriously can't explain how much she's grown... it is CRAZY!

- Still crib sleeper... but wakes up at least 2 times a night thinking she's hungry. 

- Lover of all foods. She begs for food if anyone near her is eating.

- Nursing every 3-5 hours during the day. She now knows where to find the food and is constantly pulling on my shirt... awkward!

- Loves swimming

- Running errands and shopping are some of her favorite things to do... I wonder where she gets that from?

- Is an aggressively affectionate little lady. Always pulling you in to give you a kiss that might end in a little bite. If you see two teeth marks on my face, that is why.

- Has the 2 cutest teeth ever!

- Loves giving her Minnie Mouse and llama stuffed animals kisses.

- When we say "yay!" she moves her arms and gets excited... kind of like close-fist clapping.

- Loves frozen treats... Ice cream, smoothies, and snow cones just like mama!

- The happiest, smiliest, sweetest little baby around! She is a social butterfly and loves giving out her adorable 2-teeth smile!

- Thinks fake sneezes, peek-a-boo, and laughing are hilarious.

- Sticks out, clicks, and blows bubbles with her tongue.

- Can suck out of straws and has a sippy cup she likes drinking out of by herself.

A little blurry but so cute!

7 months

My baby turned 7 months! (last week) It is weird to think this time last year she was still in my belly. I feel like she's been with us forever, yet time has gone  by so fast. She is getting so big. this month she's seemed to grow up a ton. She's so long, getting thinner (still has her chubby arms thankfully), has 2 teefies, is the speediest army crawler, and loves to chat!

Eyes: bluest blue

Hair: getting so light! Still some super long pieces, some spots sparse.

Clothes: mostly 6-12 tops, 3-6 bottoms.

Milestones: She is an army crawler with a purpose. I have to watch her every move.. she gets around fast. Pulls herself to stand, knows where her food comes from so is constantly pulling down my shirt, and can feed herself.

- hates going to sleep still

- not quite sleeping through the night

- loves food and will be your best friend if you give her tastes. She literally begs "ehhh ehh"

- Loves swimming and kicking her legs

- retaliates when you bug her by biting (She may be the nursery bully)

- LOVES people-- especially little kids. Although most of them find her too up on their grill... she's just affectionate ;)

- Talking. "gagaga" and "dadada" are happy words then "Mmmma mmmmmaaa" are the sad.

- when she's really mad she cries with her mouth shut. You can just tell she's boiling.

- Won't suck anything just chews everything.

- Still loves nursing.

- Thinks peek-a-boo is like the funnest game ever.

- Is always making a fishy face... I don't know where she learned it.

crib sleeper

Well as many of you know, Goldie has been sleeping in our bed for the past six months. This is mostly because I have separation anxiety and liked being able to hear her breathing. When she was first born she hardly slept, naps or at night. As she got a little older she would wake up consistently every three hours to eat, which for me was doable.  Well, the past week was TERRIBLE. I don't know if it was teething or what, but Goldie was sleeping like a newborn. She was waking up every hour and a half screaming, and no amount of rocking, singing, or trying to shove a binki in her mouth was helping. She wanted to eat. I was trying to get her to go longer without nursing, so she would sleep better. Let's just say we were exhausted, and it was time to move to the crib.

We've always had the routine of bath time, lotion, eat, rock and sing, then sleep. So after I would rock and sing I set her in her crib, she cried a little bit, but quickly fell asleep. The first night she slept in her crib she slept for 7 HOURS. 7 hours. I haven't gotten that much sleep in over 6 months. It was refreshing. Although I did wake up a couple times to check and make sure she was okay. I learned she prefers to sleep on her tummy, and that she isn't much of a bed-sharer. She has been sleeping in her crib for the past week, and we are so proud, and happy!

6 months

Well it's official... my baby is 6 months!! Holy cow. Time goes by way too fast. I can't believe that she will be 1 in six more months... so sad! I think she has grown up a ton this month! She is so much more mobile and suuuuuper busy.

6 month Stats:

Weight: 16 lbs 1 oz- 49%
Height: 27.25"- 93% (obviously Scott's gene)
Head: 43.5 cm- 83%

Hair: It's coming in! Super long and whispy then at the nap of her neck its thick haha. It seems like it's going blonde to me, but we get lots of comments that it has a reddish tint- so who knows!

Eyes: Crazy blue with long luscious lashes. Almond shaped liker her mama!

Clothes: Shirts she should is in-between a 3-6 and 6-12... her body is just so long! Bottoms she is more of a 3-6 still but I'm getting ready for the next size! I am excited for the warmer weather so we can see more of the chubby arms and legs... mmm my favorite!

Milestones: Goldie cut her first tooth!! It is a little razor blade, but so cute. She is now, more than ever, sticking EVERYTHING in her mouth. She can sit up by herself! She does so well until she gets distracted then just dives... she has no fear. She also started scoot/crawling this past week. She can get around fast! She doesn't do an army crawl with her arms, it's like an inchworm scoot with her legs. So funny.

Likes: 

- Food. Oh my goodness we have yet to find something she doesn't like. She's had applesauce, bananas, green beans, sweet potatoes, whipped cream :), Rita's ice, squash, veggie blends, avocados, water... the list goes on. She eats so well.

- Nursing. Still loving it.

- Attention. She will smile and look at you until you smile back. If you don't... she fake cries.

- Being busy. Always has to be moving and it is getting hard.

- Riding in the cart.

- Water. Scott will splash water in her face and she doesn't ever cry... that would make me cry.

- Her tongue. She likes talking with her tongue and making little lisp sounds haha


We are still working on the sleeping thing, she sleeps with us still (don't judge haha). She sleeps like a newborn baby... waking up every three hours to eat... and since she's been teething and in pain some nights are worse. Good thing she's cute. She's been much better at napping though. My parents got us a fun bike trailer for my birthday and she LOVES riding in that- plus it gets her to sleep every time :)

Goldie we love you and your sweet personality. You make me a better person! It is so fun getting to know you more each month. Love you Goldie girl.

Goldie

A lot of people have asked us where we got the name Goldie. I would say, oh we just sort of came up with it and liked how it was unique and had a vintage vibe to it. Well it turns out that my Grandma Susie was doing some family history and actually came across a family member with the name Goldie. I love family names so I was excited to hear a distant relative is named Goldie too! Thanks for doing family history grandma!

i love being your mom

First off I just want to let my mom, grandmas, aunts, and all the other important women in my life how blessed I am to have you. Mom.... you are nothing short of amazing. When I look back at my childhood, I wouldn't change a thing. You made everything so fun, and now I know how much work that takes. I really hope someday I can be half the mom you were to us growing up.

I feel so many emotions writing this. I will never forget the day you were born, and the first time I held you, and the love that filled the room. I was so happy you were ours forever. I know all I do is talk about little Goldie on here, but to me she is perfect and I could never stop talking about her! When I got pregnant I thought I wanted a boy.. but I am so happy I had a girl first! Goldie is my little buddy- sometimes we color coordinate (okay more often than not), play together, take lots of pictures, and even get the giggles together. I can never say how much I love being her mom. I feel so much love for her. Even though she still wakes up two or more times a night, and hates taking naps, I love her. Even if she wants to be held all day, some days, I will do it, because I love her so much.

My favorite part of the day is rocking her to sleep because she just looks at me while I sing and smiles and touches my face. It melts my heart every time. When she laughs at me, it is a total confidence-booster, even though she is giggly! She is so determined and loves to do things by herself. I always want to remember these things about Goldie.

I have been asked by some people what I do all day since I don't have a job...sure I don't get paid an hourly wage, but it feels like my job as a mom is important. Being a mom hasn't been easy, but it feels natural to me. Sure it's tiring, busy, messy, and a full-time job, but all you have to do is smile at me, fall asleep in my arms, laugh, pretty much just be you, and it makes everything so worth it.

I 100% know I look like death/chubby.
