Dottie's Blessing

Dottie was blessed on October 9, 2016. Scott gave her the sweetest blessing. He is such an amazing Dad to our girls. We were surrounded by family and are so grateful to those who made this day even more special.

Goldie didn't want any pictures... just food.

Still sad we were missing Goldie in the picture, but like I said she wouldn't leave the food.

2 years

Scott and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary this past Monday. We left Goldie with my parents for the first time (she survived ;) and we went to Cheesecake Factory and shopping for Mother's day. It is crazy to think that 2 years has already passed by, how much has happened, and how much we've grown. I feel incredibly blessed to have Scott as my husband. He is the most loving, caring, hardworking guy around. Not to mention he is an incredible daddy to our little girl.  Marrying you was the best and easiest decision I've ever made. Thank you for the best two years babe. I love you so much and look forward to many more ahead.

remembering

I know that every post I make I say I want time to slow down... because I do. My baby is coming up on four months-- which is so exciting-- but so sad at the same time! How can I have a four month old baby!? It feels like I just had her yesterday. I find myself thinking about that day(s) a lot. It was by far one of the most incredible days of my life. I loved EVERYTHING about it. Even the long labor. And I will just say it... I miss it!!! I know crazy.. but meeting Goldie for the first time was amazing. And every day since then has been amazing. She was the most beautiful little thing I have ever seen (I know I'm biased.. but still). Holding her for the first time is an indescribable feeling. I mean I still can't believe that she is mine! How did we score with such a great baby?! I cry all the time because she is/was just so dang cute!

It is so fun watching her grow and develop a personality. She continues to amaze me how strong she is, and how she can make my heart melt with just one little smile. I just want to soak everything up every day... and remember the way she smiles and batts her eyelashes or the way she kicks her legs when she's happy. To me she is the most perfect baby in the world. I just want her to be little forever, but the same time grow and fulfill her potential. I will always have a special place in my heart for the little girl that made me a mama, the best full time job I will ever have. I LOVE you to the moon and back miss Goldie Sue.

valentine

This Valentine's weekend was a good one. We headed to Vegas, and on the way stopped in Mesquite and St George to see AuBrey play some soccer. My mom and sisters met us in Vegas for some shopping, lunch and swimming. It was Goldie's first time in the pool and she LOVED it! She was so fascinated by the water... and her little body in a swim suit was just too much.Scott was able to get a beautiful room at the Wynn, but when he went to check in the man in front of him was being so mean to the receptionist, so when Scott went up he was being his regular sweet self... so we got upgraded for free to a penthouse suite. And it was beautiful!! The view was incredible! The whole wall was a panoramic window looking over the city. Such a fun memory. My mom and sisters then headed back to St. George, and we got ready for dinner and ice cream. Scott was one lucky guy because this year he got two dates! It was funny the comments we got pushing a stroller around vegas.. "how did you do Vegas with a baby?"... we don't really do Vegas the same way most do I guess! "She must be your good luck charm!" Well yeah!

Goldie did so well this trip! She was such a good little traveler. She loves the car, and slept good in the hotels. Looks like we will be able to take more road trips with her! Maybe someday I will even be brave enough to sit in the front next to Scott again!

Hanging out in St G with Grandma!

Chilling poolside at the Wynn Resort!

Heading home in style.
Thank you for an amazing trip Scotty! You will forever be our Valentine. We are the luckiest girls in the world to call you ours!

motherhood

Being a mom is so amazing. For me it has been hard to get the hang of... your life revolves around feeding, burping, bathing, diaper changes.... and the cycle goes on 24/7. and somehow it is so fun and rewarding. Even if Scott comes home from work, and I'm not showered, and we're both in our PJ's... I still feel like we accomplished so much. There is probably so much that I do so wrong, but Goldie still thinks I am a great mom. She gets excited to see me, laughs (almost), and beams when I talk to her. It really melts my heart. So not matter what I may do wrong, I know she will always love me because she has two parents that love her so much. Even though she may still sleep with/on me (I know I'm the biggest pushover ever), or take her to give her shots. I am still her mom, and sometimes I am the only one that can calm her down. It is an amazing feeling, but sometimes I feel so inadequate and worry if I am doing things wrong. Then I have to think... Goldie is healthy, happy and so loved. I wish time would slow down because now my newborn is a baby. I guess what I'm getting at is that I am no where near a perfect mother, but I am learning, and I am so enjoying getting to know my sweet little girl! Thank you for choosing me as your mom Goldie, I am forever grateful.

my mom

With yesterday being mother's day, my heart was really full of gratitude for my mom. My mom is nothing short of amazing. She has taught me so much over the years, and have so much to thank her for.

My mom is so supportive of all my siblings. I never remember not having at least one family member at one of my games. I know things can get pretty crazy when all five of your kids play two sports and there are at least five games a week, not including practices. She always did her best at being there and supporting each one of us, and I appreciate that so much.

Not only did she support us in sports, she teaches, and coaches us all in our sports. She is an incredible athlete. She has a perfect free-throw, and three-point shot, can throw a spiral every time, and can even feild a baseball! She would always play with us, and make sure we wouldn't get too competitive with each other.

My mom is an incredible cook! She makes the best food, and I realize that even more now that I'm not living at home. Scott I promise one day the cooking skills will come more naturaly :). Every day before school she would have a hot breakfast for us, then pack a lunch for school. At night she would have dinner ready, but we would wait until everyone got home to eat together as a family, even if it was at 9 o'clock.

Service and hard work are important to my mom. Growing up in my ward there are a lot of elderly people who are lonely. My mom would always visit them, bring them a homemade dinner, mow their lawn, pull their weeds, sweep their gutters. She always notices when someone needs help, and there she is with her snow shovel, shoveling everyone in the neighborhoods driveway. She is so sweet, and kind.

My mom is the best women I know. I look up to her in so many ways, and appreciate everything she has done for me and for others. She teaches by example. I am incredibly blessed to have an amazing example of what a mother should be. Thank you for all you do mom, I love you! Happy Mother's Day!

our story

Scott and I met at a Utah State football game for the very first time. We exchanged the most awkward hug ever, and I felt so stupid. I thought that I would never see Scott again, but a couple weeks later I saw him again at the gym. He was playing basketball with his friends and I was running around the track. I thought he wouldn't remember me but after they finished playing basketball, his roommate Eric came up and started talking to me. Scott came up and talked to me a little later. Then he asked for my number and asked if I would want to go out on Wednesday. I really wanted to but I said no, because I had a soccer game. Then I told he I would love to any other day. He said he would call me, but I didn't get a text or a phone call for the next couple days. I went to the gym again that following Friday and Scott's roommate Eric was there too, he came up to me and my roommate and invited us to a concert that night. We said yes! Scott didn't know that I would be there, so he was surprised to see us. We really hit it off that first date.

From that day on we saw each other every day. We had so much fun together and could talk about everything. A couple weeks went by before he asked me to be his girlfriend... except he asked me to ask him if he would be my boyfriend. When we first started dating Scott told me he would want to date for four years before he would get married. That way he would be done with school and have a career. We almost made the four years... Four months later Scott popped the question on Christmas day. It wasn't to much of a surprise because we already had a temple date, however, I had no idea when he was going to propose.

Scott proposed the Christmas of 2012. He had put together a 12 days of christmas box with 12 little presents I was supposed to each day. The last day was a little box and I thought for sure it was a ring. He spent Christmas with my family and that was the day I was going to open the little box. It was the last present I opened, and it wasn't a ring.. but a very pretty braclet. I was kind of disappointed. Then Scott said that he had one more present, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of my whole family. It was so perfect. And so was my ring. I love it! It is crazy how fast everything has gone by, it feels like yesterday we went on our first date.
